TanVision vs TanTrack

What TanTrack offers is taken from its own website and linked where it appears. Seen something change? Tell us and we will correct it.

The short answer

TanTrack's website describes software that runs on your own computer, with timer control and integrated card processing, plus automated EFT draft and a cloud-hosted database on its two higher plans. TanVision runs in a web browser and suits a single salon that wants check-in to enforce exposure limits, paperwork and bed-level upgrades, with card payments and monthly auto-pay through its built-in card processing, and session times sent to the beds on T-Max timer controllers.

At a glance

The TanTrack column is taken from TanTrack's own website as of October 2026, linked in each cell. Where a page we read says nothing about a point, the cell says so rather than guessing.

How each one runs

As of October 2026, their system requirements page describes "what you need to run TanTrack Tanning Salon Software in your computer": a minimum operating system version, at least 4 GB of memory with 8 GB or more recommended, and a 128 GB drive or larger. Their cloud hosting page offers hosting of the salon's data off-site on their cloud servers, with automatic data backups kept up to 14 days.

TanVision runs in a web browser instead, so there is nothing to install on the counter computer. It works on a counter computer, a tablet by the beds or an owner's phone, in a light or a dark theme, and every open desk screen redraws itself when something on the floor changes. TanVision is cloud software and needs a connection; offline running is not something it offers today.

Pricing

As of October 2026, their pricing page lists three plans: Starter at $99.99 a month for one location, The Bundle at $129.99 a month per location, and Pro & Multi Location for unlimited locations, priced by asking them ("Talk to Us"). A note on the page says to talk to them for more than one station per location.

On that page, Starter's list includes the software, technical support, updates, integrated credit card processing and on-site reporting, and shows the rest of the list faded. The Bundle adds automated EFT draft, extended cloud reporting, a cloud-hosted database, online bookings with a client portal, digital signage software and location comparison reports. Pro & Multi Location adds premium support.

The same page lists updates, installation or migration, more than 300 reports with an accounting integration, and unlimited support as included. It lists extras priced on request: card processing, cloud hosting set-up, text messaging packages, a kiosk station, an in-salon billboard and other hardware.

Front desk and check-in

TanVision's desk is a live floor board: a tile or row for each room showing whether it is free, running or needs cleaning, and the time left. Staff scan a keytag or search, pick the package and the room, and type the minutes. The minutes box is never filled in for them.

Before a session starts, check-in checks the paperwork and the limits. A session cannot start without a signed warning statement, a date of birth, and guardian consent for a minor. For UV rooms, TanVision can recommend a session length from the client's skin type and tan build-up, and it refuses a typed time above the limit or above the room's own maximum. The limits follow the salon's own settings, capped at each unit's maximum. More on exposure safety.

On the TanTrack side, their equipment control page says it can control all tanning beds, spray tanning and other equipment linked to the timer, and that with some timers the panel can be locked by a key or a password, so staff must send every client to tan through TanTrack.

Packages and memberships

TanVision sells session packs and unlimited plans with expiry dates, daily or weekly visit limits and freezing. A package's sessions, price and expiry are locked in at the sale, and every manual correction records who made it and why. The salon decides which package opens which room, and an upgrade is rung up as a sale before the bed starts. See memberships and packages and bed levels and upgrades.

A monthly package in TanVision can bill on auto-pay: the client saves a card on the card processor's secure page, and TanVision charges it each period with the tax, on terms such as a setup fee, a minimum number of payments and a cancellation rule. A declined payment is tried again. Their pricing page lists integrated credit card processing on all three TanTrack plans, and automated EFT draft on The Bundle and Pro & Multi Location.

Where TanTrack does more today

If any of these matter to your salon, TanTrack lists them and TanVision does not offer them today.

TanVision does not take client bookings online or run several locations from one account today, and it does not support timer brands other than T-Max yet. If your salon depends on one of these, raise it on a demo.

Switching

TanVision brings your client list, the packages clients still hold and their visit history in from spreadsheets saved as CSV, so a move is three imports plus fresh digital signatures. Keytags come in with the client list, and gift certificates sold before the switch are added by hand. The switching page has the full checklist.

Common questions

Is TanTrack cloud-based?
TanTrack's system requirements page describes running it on your own computer, and their cloud hosting page offers hosting the data on their cloud servers. TanVision runs in a web browser, with nothing to install.

Does TanVision control tanning bed timers like TanTrack?
With T-Max timer controllers only. Their equipment control page says TanTrack integrates with all timers.
